Fall Pantone Colors are Right on Hue
Though it may seem that spring is just getting started with everyone breaking out their sundresses and shorts, it’s never too early to think about what’s on tap for the next season when it comes to fashion. We’ve already spotted hot eyewear hitting the fall/winter 2012 runways, so now it’s time to focus on the season’s must-have colors.
According to the Pantone Color Institute, there are plenty of hues to look forward to during the cooler months. For women, designers sought inspiration from sunsets, fantasy and illusion and debuted a surprising mix of darks, brights and neutrals for a well-rounded look. Bright Chartreuse, a vital yellow-green, is the go-to shade to transition from summer to fall. Pops of bold color like Pink Flambe, Tangerine Tango, Ultramarine Green and Olympian blue add quintessential flair to more mellow tones like Honey Gold, Rhapsody, French Roast, Titanium and Rose Smoke.
Much like the women’s pantones, the men’s fall palette plays with a variety of color. Rhubarb, a deep, pungent shade, adds preppy appeal, especially when worn opposite of Tangerine Tango and Honey Gold. Vibrant Ultramarine Green, Bright Chartreuse and Olympian Blue make their mark on winter athletic apparel, and will look great on the slopes. Neutrals – like Whitecap Gray, Sea Fog, Titanium and French Roast – are key to balancing out the color spectrum and add a confident, masculine touch.
