Carrera in “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold”

In what some critics are calling “the Inception of documentaries,” POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold is exploring the realm of product placement in films. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock is spearheading the project and has signed on over 20 sponsors for the movie, including CARRERA Sunglasses by Safilo Group and Solstice Sunglass Boutique.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and then had its opening night last month in L.A. The exclusive L.A. after party featured sponsor’s products where attendees could mix and mingle and view the film’s product placements first-hand. To keep the festivities rolling, celebrities were also personally fitted with CARRERA shades.

Focusing on branding, advertising and product placement, POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold exposes a behind-the-scenes look at how companies play an integral part in filmmaking. The movie is financed and made possible due to the support of the record number of sponsors, all of which are featured seamlessly throughout the documentary.

  1. Smart promo, very smart. All brands appearing in this movie are paid product placements, but I think Carrera can get away with such a cheeky move.
