#BeShady with TOMS for World Sight Day

It’s OK to be shady today, so say our pals at TOMS Eyewear! Oct. 10 marks World Sight Day—a whirlwind 24-hours when TOMS is asking its fans across the globe to rock their sunnies indoors, in an effort to raise awareness for visual impairment and blindness. And peeps have quickly caught the shady fever. They’ve taken social media by storm, posting photos of themselves in sunglasses inside and statuses about why they “wanna #BeShady with @TOMS” on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. In turn, TOMS has an awesome feed of the incoming posts on its website to show the world just how important vision is to everyone! And it’s no wonder why.

The generous brand—that’s known for it’s “One for One” movement, which provides the gift of sight to one person for every pair of TOMS glasses sold—has highlighted numerous statistics on its website about the importance of vision care, including the fact that 285 million individuals are blind or visually impaired. But 80 percent of those cases can be corrected or prevented with available eye care.

TOMS has even designed a limited edition pair of “Phoenix” sunnies in light of the cause. Boasting a trendy wayfarer-inspired silhouette with a keyhole bridge, these tortoise shades with gold mirrored lenses are super cool!

So don’t wait! Join TOMS in its fight to save the peepers by participating in its World Sight Day efforts, grabbing a pair of new frames to show you care, or by getting more informed through its website!
