Safilo Revels in 80 Years with Throwback Specs

It’s official! Safilo has been in the eyewear biz for a whopping 80 years. And the renowned company—that started making its mark in 1934—is celebrating the major milestone with a spankin’ new capsule collection with the namesake Safilo by Marc Newson. With the help of talented Australian designer Marc Newson, Safilo has crafted a line of specs that’s truly reminiscent of the 70s retro era. In fact, each pair of glasses is modeled after the Safilo Elasta 3003N style that was popular during that period. Boasting vintage-inspired oversized fluid square silhouettes, a mix of luminously glossy and metallic finishes, and a sophisticated palette of black, blue and gray, among others, these frames perfectly epitomize their old-school counterpart. Cheers to another eight decades, Safilo!
